Spending time with loved ones, supporting others, and gaining valuable knowledge are resolutions that we can all get behind this new year, and we know the perfect place to start. ABLE United is excited to be part of these upcoming events that celebrate and strengthen Florida’s disability community.
Representatives will be on-site to share how you can start achieving a better life experience through ABLE United.
Here are some of the events we will be at:
February 24, 2018 – Orlando
The Hope Conference welcomes educators, paraprofessionals, and family members of Florida’s disabled community to register and attend The Hope Conference on Saturday, February 24th. This year’s event will highlight keynote speaker, Chris Ulmer, who is the CEO of Special Books by Special Kids. Through this non-profit organization, Chris travels the world to interview individuals with diverse diagnoses and backgrounds to create a more accepting environment around the globe. The conference takes place at the First Baptist Church of Orlando from 7:30 am through 12:45 pm at 300 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805. We hope you’ll join us for this event!
March 3, 2018 – Apopka
Join us Saturday, March 3rd at the Annual Conference for Exceptional Student Education. A free conference for students with disabilities, their families, and educators. Important topics that will be covered include health and nutrition, mental health, school choices, and other available resources. Representatives from ABLE United will be on-site to answer any questions that you may have. The conference takes place from 8:00 am through 2:00 pm at Wekiva High School, 2501 N. Hiawassee Road, Apopka, FL 32803. Parents attending the event are encouraged to pre-register, and for more information, contact Jill Morrison at firstname.lastname@example.org.
March 18, 2018 – Orlando
Join the UCF Track & Field as they host the Black & Gold Challenge! UCF CARD and PALS along with Autism Speaks, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and several other Central Florida organizations will be there showing our support towards the autism community. Come out to enjoy fun games, inflatables, food, an autsim awareness walk, and the UCF Black and Gold challenge on the field. Great fun for the whole family!
