An ABLE United account provides an opportunity for financial independence for individuals with disabilities, by allowing them to save more than $16,000 per year and maintain government benefits. Funds in an ABLE United account are generally excluded when determining eligibility for federal benefit programs, allowing individuals to save up to $100,000 without impacting Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and even more without impacting Medicaid benefits.
One of the great features of the ABLE United program is that an individual with a disability can save with the help of family and friends, since anyone can contribute to the account. Caregivers and family members can contribute and help financially prepare for their loved one’s future. Simply put, we can help save for a better life experience.
“What a wonderful gift opportunity an ABLE account offers. We are now able to contribute funds to an ABLE account that can have the advantage of long term savings without impacting other benefits. This allows families to dream and plan for their child’s future.”
