Why ABLE?

Our Mission

  • Empowering Individuals with Disabilities

At ABLE United, we believe financial independence is for everyone. That’s why we provide tax-advantaged savings accounts for individuals with a severe diagnosis or disability —so they can save tax-free for today’s needs and plan for tomorrow without impacting essential benefits.

We’re here to make saving simple, secure, and accessible for those who need it most.

Who We Serve

ABLE United was created for:

Floridians with a severe diagnosis or disability (with onset before age 46)

Families, guardians, and representative payees managing funds

Professionals and service providers supporting individuals with a severe diagnosis or disability

The ABLE Act and Our Purpose

After years of grassroots advocacy led by individuals with disabilities and their loved ones, the federal ABLE Act of 2014 opened the door for individuals with a severe diagnosis or disability to save money tax-free without affecting public benefits.

As Florida’s official ABLE program, ABLE United was launched in 2016 to bring that opportunity home—offering a safe, affordable way to build financial security.
