For Miami father Daniel Freiman, building a strong future for his children isn’t just a dream—it’s a plan in motion.
Originally from Mexico City, Daniel and his wife, who hails from Colombia, have called South Florida home for the last 13 years. Together, they’ve created a life filled with culture, curiosity, and intention. With two children born in 2017 and 2019, their weekends are packed with activities like chess tournaments, tennis matches, gymnastics classes, and the occasional Friday night sushi dinner—a beloved family tradition.
“We really value different experiences and cultures,” Daniel shares. “We like to expose our kids to new things, even if they don’t love it the first time. We’ll try again in a couple of months.”
As an account administrator for his children’s ABLE United accounts and one of our proud ambassadors, Daniel discovered ABLE accounts while researching savings tools for minors. With a background in finance and a strong understanding of long-term investing, he was impressed by the flexibility and benefits that ABLE accounts offer—especially in comparison to traditional custodial accounts or 529 plans.
“There just aren’t many good options for minors that don’t impact things like FAFSA and other benefit programs,” Daniel explains. “ABLE was a clear fit. We started with small amounts and contribute whenever we can. It’s very much a long-term investment—one that we hope will grow significantly over the years.” Daniel and his wife don’t have a specific use in mind for the funds just yet. Whether the money goes toward college, a first home, or another important milestone, the goal is simple: create financial security for their children and allow them the freedom to pursue their passions.
“My daughter has said she wants to be a doctor,” Daniel says with a smile. “Knowing what that path can require—in terms of time and cost—it’s all the more reason to start planning now.”
As an ambassador, Daniel is passionate about spreading the word to other families. His core message is straightforward but powerful: “A little goes a long way. Even small amounts, invested consistently over time, can grow into something substantial. Set it, forget it, and let compounding interest do its work.”
What makes ABLE United stand out, he says, is its simplicity and adaptability. “The platform is easy to use, the investment options are solid, and the wide range of eligible expenses makes it incredibly versatile. I truly think it’s one of the few tools that offers so many advantages with very few downsides.”
Daniel’s biggest hopes for his children? That they grow up healthy, happy, and free to find their own paths. And if, down the road, those ABLE accounts can help them take their first steps into adulthood a little more confidently—all the better.
“I hope one day they give me a hug and say thank you,” he laughs. “But really, it’s about giving them options. That’s what ABLE United is helping us do.”
