Meet Our Faces of ABLE
Every ABLE account represents a story. A person. A family. A better future. Here are just a few of the incredible people who inspire our work every day:
Caleb
ABLE United Member since 2016
Caleb is a rising high school senior with remarkable strides. He was named the 2023 Inspire Ambassador for Buddy Cruise and presented a workshop about his life journey during this year’s cruise. Caleb is a triathlete and has completed over 20 triathlons. Caleb has used his ABLE account to save for a new bike to help him conquer more triathlons.

Camryn
ABLE United Member since 2020
Diagnosed with an intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder, but that has never stopped her. She’s been able to use her natural talents, empathy and her love for children, and with the support she receives from her family, she can build a life that will set her up for a successful future – including financial independence with her ABLE United account.

Justine
ABLE United Member since 2026
Justine Chichester became a paraplegic at age 40 after a fall caused a spinal cord injury and hydrocephalus, leading to multiple surgeries and a long rehabilitation. Through years of determination and intensive therapy, she has regained the ability to stand and walk with a walker, and she now advocates for the disability community through her work with the Disability Independence Group and as Chairwoman of the Coral Gables Disability Advisory Board. Looking ahead to opening her ABLE United account in 2026, she believes it will finally give her the financial flexibility and security she has struggled to maintain since her injury.

Spencer
ABLE United Member since 2018
Spencer became quadriplegic after being injured in an armed robbery about 12 years ago, but he refused to let that define his life. Since opening an ABLE United account in 2018, he’s used it to build financial security — even weathering unexpected hardship when his home was damaged in a hurricane — while pursuing his passion as a travel agent specializing in accessible travel and giving back to his community through advocacy and nonprofit work.

Umar
ABLE United Member since 2022
Triumphed over numerous challenges while embracing a life filled with joy and adventure. Umar has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and has defied limitations and found his passion in activities like basketball, camping, dancing and swimming. With unwavering support from his loving family, Umar has proven that determination and a supportive environment can enable individuals with ASD to embrace their interests, discover their talents and live life to the fullest.

Monica
ABLE United Member since 2020
Monica Quimby is a forward on the U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team whose upbeat leadership and positive energy helped carry the team to gold at the inaugural Women’s World Para Ice Hockey Championship in 2025. Known as the “hype woman” on the bench — always cheering teammates on, lifting spirits in the locker room, and bringing infectious enthusiasm — she ended the tournament with four points and was named her team’s Best Player in the semifinal after a goal and assist.

LeQuina
ABLE United Member since 2021
LeQuina is a 32-year-old self-advocate, writer, and disability activist from St. Petersburg, Florida, living with cerebral palsy. She holds a B.A. in English Literature and Cultural Studies and a Master of Liberal Arts from the University of South Florida, writes on her blog BlackGirlRolling about her experiences and disability-related issues, and competes in the Ms. Wheelchair 2025 pageant — all while using her role as an ambassador for ABLE United to promote financial independence for people with disabilities.
