Inspiring self-advocate, writer, disability activist – these are just some of the ways to describe our newest ambassador and Faces of ABLE profile, LeQuina. Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, LeQuina is a 32-year-old with cerebral palsy who is making waves in her community and beyond. Her journey toward financial independence and advocacy is nothing short of inspiring, and we are honored to have her as a part of the ABLE United family.

LeQuina’s personality is as vibrant as her passions. An avid lover of literature, she holds both a bachelor’s in English literature and cultural studies, as well as a master’s in liberal arts from the University of South Florida. She is deeply connected to her creative side and often shares her writing at local open mic nights.

In addition to her love of literature, LeQuina runs a blog called BlackGirlRolling, where she educates others about the challenges of living with a disability and motivates her readers on their journey to self-acceptance. As someone who strives to empower others, LeQuina is also competing in the Ms. Wheelchair 2025 competition, focusing on the importance of inclusive youth development programs for young adults with disabilities.

LeQuina first heard about ABLE United while attending The Family Cafe, an annual event that serves as a resource hub for families and individuals living with disabilities in Florida. She quickly realized the benefits of having an ABLE account, and it didn’t take long for her to sign up and start using it.

For LeQuina, her ABLE United account is more than just a savings tool – it’s a step toward financial independence. She uses her account to cover essential living expenses, such as groceries and transportation. With her account, LeQuina has the flexibility and freedom to manage her finances without worrying about losing critical public benefits.

“My ABLE United account helps me gain financial independence,” LeQuina shares. “As a new ABLE United Ambassador, I want to help people learn how they can save money and prepare for the future.” LeQuina’s role as an ambassador gives her the opportunity to not only advocate for others but also share her personal journey in hopes of inspiring others to take control of their financial future.

LeQuina’s dreams are big, and we have no doubt she will achieve them. In her own words, “Honestly, I have too many dreams to count.” Among them, she hopes to write a book, travel to Italy with her family, and live independently. But first, she’s focused on finding a career that combines her love of disability advocacy with working alongside young adults – a field she feels passionate about.
